Osoyoos Minor Baseball hosted it’s first-ever two-day Mosquito A 11U tournament this past weekend.

The weekend consisted of a 4 game minimum and two full days of double header baseball featuring teams from Osoyoos/Oliver, Princeton, West Kelowna and Kelowna. The competition was outstanding, the coaching was top-notch and all the parents and fans were supportive and respectful, it was a great weekend.

The weekend featured a skills competition on Saturday, in which the players competed for prizes in the Longest Hit, Long Toss and Baserunning competitions. The kids were all amazing, it’s remarkable to see what these athletes can really do!

Capping it off on Sunday was the final championship game which featured the West Kelowna Pirates and the Kelowna Banana Pirates in a well-matched battle. The kids played some great baseball and in the end the WK Pirates were victorious!

Congratulations to Coach Rich, and Coach Shawn for a terrific weekend of baseball and congratulations to the West Kelowna Pirates on their Championship!

A huge thank you to Nikki Ferrier and our OMBA parents that helped run and manage the concession and made this weekend a great one for the kids!

Another BC Baseball Coach’s Caravan was held last Friday with record attendance for OMBA. Over 125 players and parents participated in the coaching clinic run by the BC Baseball Association.

The Coach’s Caravan is unique in that it is the only program of it’s kind in North America that encourages parents and coaches to participate in baseball drills with their kids.

In addition to baseball skills, the caravan instructs parents and coaches on several key points to supporting their player’s athletic journey, whether it’s baseball or any other sport.

A wonderful job by BC Baseball and a terrific experience for all our OMBA families!
